Germain's langur is an Old World monkey native to Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, previously included in two other langur species. It has black hands, feet and upper body fading to paler grey on the underparts, a long grey tail and white hairs on its round face; the young have bright orange fur (Wikipedia, general species account).

The limits of its distribution are not well known. Populations in Vietnam are severely reduced, with few sightings in the last 50 years, while in Cambodia it is widespread, with a stable population of 1,487 reported in Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary, and in Thailand it is common. It is folivorous, eating leaves, shoots and fruit and also mushrooms and soil, and is often found in troops of 10 to 50.
