About this species

Habitat
Cliffs covered in shrubby vegetation, around 3,000m
Range
Sichuan and Yunnan, China

Forrest's rock squirrel is a species of rodent in the family Sciuridae, endemic to Sichuan and Yunnan in China according to the cached account, where it inhabits cliffs covered in shrubby vegetation at around 3,000 m. Checklists place it only tentatively in Vietnam and neighbouring countries (Wikipedia, general species account).

Relatively little is known about it, and its behaviour is assumed to resemble that of its more widespread relative, Pere David's rock squirrel. It largely resembles that species in appearance, but is more ochraceous in colour and has a faint whitish line on the side.
