About this species

Habitat
Montane forest at 750–950m
Range
Northern Vietnam and southern China

Kuznetsov's mole is a species of mole in the family Talpidae found in northern Vietnam and southern China. It was named after the Russian mammalogist German V. Kuznetsov of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Wikipedia, general species account).

It has been recorded from north-eastern Vietnam in Vinh Phuc and Cao Bang provinces, at elevations of 750 to 950 m, east of the Red River; a record from Guangxi in China likely belongs to this species. It is a large mole, comparable in size to E. longirostris and E. orlovi, and can be distinguished by its large, club-shaped tail, larger skull, short molar rows and wider rostrum.
