About this species

Range
Central Highlands of Vietnam (Kon Tum and Quang Nam provinces)

The Ngoc Linh mole is a species of mole in the family Talpidae, endemic to central Vietnam. It was named after Ngoc Linh mountain, near which it was first discovered. It is thought to be endemic to the Central Highlands, in Kon Tum and Quang Nam provinces, and moles from Gia Lai Province may also belong to this species (Wikipedia, general species account).

It is a small mole, comparable in size only to the Vietnamese mole, with a bulb-shaped tail and a long, moderately wide rostrum. It has a smaller body and skull and shorter tooth rows than the small-toothed mole.
