Schneider's leaf-nosed bat has three extra leaflets on its nose-leaf, the outer one smaller than the other two, and well-developed lappets by the nostrils. Its colour ranges from grey to orange-brown, paler between the shoulders and below. It hunts insects on low, slow flights, mostly beetles, flies and mosquitoes taken among vegetation at the edge of open ground (Wikipedia, general species account).
In India it has been recorded in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Uttarakhand. It roosts in colonies of up to about 1,000, in caves, underground cellars, old forts, palaces, bridges, temples and tunnels; bats in India are more scattered in their roosts than those in Sri Lanka. Gestation is 135–140 days with a single young, which the mother carries while foraging until it is about a week old (Wikipedia, general species account).
