The Far Eastern myotis, also called the bombinus bat, is a mouse-eared bat of eastern Asia. Published summaries describe it as widespread but uncommon on the Korean Peninsula, and taxonomic databases retain it as Myotis bombinus. Because the opened sources did not provide dependable external measurements or diagnostic pelage characters, field separation from other regional Myotis should not be attempted from this short account. (Wikipedia, general species account; Mammal Diversity Database)
The species is associated with wooded landscapes and spends winter in caves in the better-documented Korean portion of its range. A central Asian ectoparasite survey also examined a Myotis bombinus specimen, independently supporting its presence in the national bat fauna. The opened sources did not provide enough species-level evidence for diet, reproduction, summer roosts, or a central Asian viewing site, so those details are deliberately omitted.
