Rickett's big-footed bat is a widely distributed vesper bat of southern and eastern China, Vietnam and Laos, a habitat specialist that depends strictly on water because much of its diet is fish. Near Beijing its diet was 60% pale chub and 13% water beetles. It is threatened by water pollution. The older name pilosus has priority over ricketti, which arose from an erroneous type locality in Uruguay (Wikipedia, general species account).

The cached account does not list India in its range, although the Indian species list includes this species, so its occurrence here should be checked, and it gives no description or breeding information (Wikipedia, general species account).
