About this species

Range
Malay Peninsula to Sumatra (Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia)

The Malayan tapir, also called the Asian, Asiatic or black-and-white tapir, is the only living tapir species outside the Americas. It is native to Southeast Asia from the Malay Peninsula to Sumatra. It is easily identified by its markings, most notably the light-coloured patch that extends from the shoulders to the hindquarters, with black hair covering the rest of the body (Wikipedia, general species account).
